There’s much talk about growth in our society. Growing cities, companies, movements, and the economy. These things don’t grow by themselves. They grow out of people. At Academic Work we are on a mission to make people grow. We believe in the potential that resides in all of us. If given the chance and the right tools, people are most often eager to grow. By working and surrounding ourselves with ambitious people, we have gone from being a small start-up to an international business family of companies.
At the core of that business family is Academic Work. We are a recruitment- and staffing agency. We offer jobs for young professionals in the beginning of their career. Working at Academic Work means you help clients find and hire consultants working on specific client assignments or help them recruit their next employee. We are an international company, currently operating in six countries: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany & Switzerland. Our biggest business areas are IT, Technology, and Finance.
We build our business on great people and our success is the result of us attracting the right co-workers, candidates and consultants. We want to help our clients do the same. We believe we can achieve that by providing great services and products while living our core values: Share Energy, Beat Yesterday & Show Heart.
Quick history
Our story begins with three study friends and a phone book. In the 90s, things were both simpler and more challenging. In 1998, we founded Academic Work with a simple idea: to match our fellow students with employers in need of part-time staff. We started with the letter A in the phone book and called companies until we got a positive response. And that’s how the journey began.
Since then, we have moved through several office spaces (one of them was a boiler room at KTH), established ourselves in Sweden’s largest cities, and expanded to Norway, Denmark, Germany, Finland, and Switzerland.
In 2016, we celebrated the milestone of 100,000 recruited candidates. Today, we have helped over 200,000 people find their next job.
